The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Are you freaking kidding me? That’s the ending??? I am so frustrated at the ending yet at the same time I wanted the book two badly.
This is book is really, really good, maybe not one of my favorites but I enjoyed devouring this one. The story plot is intriguing and unique. I thought the idea of knowing or hearing thoughts of other is cool, but after reading this I do realized that it is really irritating. And I have no intentions of subjecting myself in that kind of experience.
Now the characters, I really don’t have a favorite on this one. Todd Hewitt is a little bit immature for me; his indecisions are kind of annoying. There are times that I wanted to smack him so he can finally make a decision. Viola is ok, not a stand out though. Aaron, is he an alien??? I am really having a hard time to believe that a man injured like him can survive for that long. I mean he has half of his face ripped off, his nose too and he is still alive and can follow Todd and Viola??? Are infections not part of their world??? I think Manchee saved the book for me. Oh I love that dog very much… I wished I have my own Manchee...
The writing style is a little bit different, but you will get used to it after a few chapters. Some words were spelled incorrectly and there are some grammar errors in the sentences. Well it is expected though because they are not educated.
Like I said, The Knife of Never Letting Go is definitely good and worth reading. You may be irritated and frustrated on some parts but this book is full of adventures and suspense. If you love dystopian, better check this one out.
